I am looking for 1 postdoc (2 years) and 1 PhD student (fully paid, 3 years) at the Computer Science department
of Aarhus University, a top 100 university with an excellent reputation.
The positions are available from the Fall 2019. Applications are to be submitted online:

Project description:
====================
Concurrent software systems govern large parts of our critical infrastructure, so their correct design is of
utmost importance. Despite tremendous progress in automated verification, many challenges remain. Besides the
inherent complexity and scale of software systems, we must handle the uncertainty on the environment in which
they operate, like timing parameters, failure probabilities, and the (possibly malicious) behaviour of external
agents.
In this project, we want to address these challenges by advancing and developing efficient parallel algorithms
for software verification and synthesis of control strategies. In particular, we want to address:
- Strategy Synthesis for Solving Games
- Symbolic Reasoning for Synthesis
- Parametric Verification and Synthesis

Qualifications and specific competences:
========================================
Applicants to the PhD position must have a relevant Master's degree in Computer Science (or a related area).
The postdoc should have a PhD degree in a related topic and will be evaluated on her/his publication record
and specific ideas for this project.
The successful candidate demonstrates a strong theoretical background in formal methods and algorithms, broadly
conceived. At the same time, s/he should not shy away from programming research prototypes, to conduct
performance experiments and case studies, for instance in IoT security. Good writing and presentation skills
(English) are important as well.

Place of Employment and Location:
